Digital Office

When you seek care at our office, you are assured that Dr. Simonsky and staff utilize the latest in technology to enhance the quality of your dental care. Our office is essentially paperless with computers in every room. We use digital xrays, digital charts, electronic insurance submissions, email and text messaging to personalize communication to your needs. This streamlines the transfer of information which is always done securely and with the utmost privacy in mind.

Digital Xrays

Digital X-rays offer more precision since we view the image on a large computer monitor, instead of holding a very small film up to the light. Digital X-rays only produce 1/6th the radiation exposure to you compared to traditional radiographs. So in terms of your overall health the digital xray is much safer.

Dr. Simonsky chooses carefully which and when radiographs need to be taken. Radiographs allow us to see everything we cannot see with our own eyes. Radiographs enable us to detect cavities in between your teeth, determine bone level, and analyze the health of your bone. We can also examine the roots and nerves of teeth, diagnose lesions such as cysts or tumours, as well as assess damage when trauma occurs.

Computerized Digital Imaging also allows us to store and quickly retrieve patient xrays. This enables us to quickly and securely transfer them to specialists or insurance companies wherever they are located.

Laser Dentistry

picasso lase photoSoft tissue laser dentistry is one of dentistry’s latest advances. The laser delivers energy in the form of light which travels at different wavelengths. In dentistry, this laser can be used to remove excess gum tissue, biopsy suspect oral tissue, eliminate pain caused by canker sore or stop bleeding during surgery.  Sometimes no local anaesthesia is required as in the treatment of cankers. And lastly the use of the dental laser eliminates the need for suturing which can lead to faster healing..

Intraoral Camera

An Intraoral Camera is a very small camera-wand that allows our practice to capture and show you  precise images of your mouth, teeth and gums. With clear enlarged images, you and Dr. Simonsky see details that may be difficult to see by standard visual examinations.

If ‘seeing is believing’ then you will have no trouble believing what the staff at Dr. Simonsky’s office will show you in your own mouth!

Magnification Telescopes

Dentistry is micro-surgery. Using high-power prismatic telescopes like those used in hospital operating rooms, Dr. Simonsky can create dental restorations with incredibly precise fit and finish. The close-up view also enables a much more accurate identification and diagnosis of many subtle oral pathologies. And to further enhance the close-up work, a focused telescope-light directs a very narrow light beam inside the mouth minimizing the usual glare from a standard dental light. You just can’t achieve this level of precision with the naked eye..

Digital Macro Photography

This provides photos of completed treatments, more personalized laboratory communication, insurance treatment plan verification. We also use it for critical followup of suspicious oral lesions.
